Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The University of Florida is seeking a Research Administrator I to join the College of Public Health and Health Professions. This role focuses on pre-award development, assisting faculty in submitting research proposals, and managing the proposal submission process to ensure compliance with various policies.
Responsibilities
- Learn all facets of research administration
- Assist faculty in submitting research proposals for national and international competitions
- Work with a department and their assigned research administration team
- Review the request for application (RFA) for administrative requirements
- Draft checklists to help faculty know what needs to be provided
- Identify places where the research administrator(s) can support the proposal submission
- Develop an accurate budget compliant with various policies
- Ensure all administrative requirements of the sponsor’s RFA are met
- Manage the research proposal submission process to ensure compliance with sponsor, state and university policy
- Assist faculty with management and submission of additional documents and budget revisions requested by sponsors
- Set up the project file in UFirst and assist with budget adjustments upon receipt of a new award
- Provide administrative support for post-award research administration
- Train and manage a post-award portfolio with emphasis on customer support
- Review award documents for reconciliation and ensure proper document retention
- Learn high-level review of financial processes at the University of Florida
Skills
- Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to track, maintain and manipulate data
- Outstanding customer service capabilities
- Microsoft Office experience
- Ability to function under pressure and within tight scheduled deadlines
