The Senior Data Engineer you become is the backbone of our VoC transformation journey. You will design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that ingest, cleanse, and enrich massive volumes of survey data from multiple sources. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Business Stakeholders: Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and business analysts to translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Design End‑to‑End Data Pipelines: Architect and implement data ingestion workflows that pull survey responses from careerzynith’s proprietary survey platform and external sources, ensuring high‑throughput and low‑latency processing.
- Develop Data Models & Schemas: Create robust, normalized data models in the careerzynith data lake that support both batch and streaming analytics, adhering to best practices for data governance and security.
- Leverage Big Data Technologies: Utilize Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Spark, PySpark, and Python to build scalable processing jobs that handle terabytes of data daily.
- Implement Real‑Time Analytics: Build streaming solutions using Spark Structured Streaming and Kafka (or equivalent) to deliver near‑real‑time dashboards for senior leadership.
- Automate Testing & Deployment: Develop CI/CD pipelines, automated unit/integration tests, and monitoring alerts to ensure data quality and system reliability.
- Optimize Performance: Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, and resource management to maximize efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Produce clear technical documentation, data dictionaries, and runbooks; mentor junior engineers and contribute to community of practice sessions.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, adopt emerging technologies, and enhance the overall data architecture.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools (Hive, HDFS) and Spark (including PySpark).
- Proficiency in Python scripting and Shell scripting for data manipulation and automation.
- Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining large‑scale data pipelines in a cloud or on‑premise environment.
- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and ETL best practices.
- Experience working in Agile Scrum environments, delivering incremental value in two‑week sprints.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, with a track record of troubleshooting complex data issues.
- Effective communication skills in English (both written and verbal); Spanish fluency is a plus.
