Our client, a leading P&C Regional Insurance Carrier, is looking to add an experienced Senior Field Property Claims Adjuster to their Massachusetts team. This role involves full-cycle handling of both residential and commercial property claims, from initial inspection to resolution. You’ll assess damage on-site, interpret policy coverage, and negotiate settlements while maintaining a strong focus on customer service and efficient claims management.
The selected individual will be responsible for driving claims to resolution while maintaining strong technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and a high level of service for policyholders and business partners. This is a fully remote position with a company-issued vehicle for both business and personal use!
Responsibilities
• Handle complex first-party property losses involving residential and commercial risks from assignment through final disposition
• Analyze coverage, evaluate damages, and assess financial exposure on high-severity claims
• Conduct detailed investigations involving policy interpretation, liability analysis, and cause of loss determination
• Establish and adjust claim reserves based on evolving claim activity and litigation exposure
• Work closely with outside counsel on litigated matters, including strategy discussions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
• Coordinate with independent adjusters, engineers, consultants, contractors, and forensic experts throughout the life of the claim
• Lead settlement negotiations within authority guidelines while balancing customer experience and cost containment
• Maintain accurate file documentation and ensure compliance with applicable state regulations and internal procedures
• Monitor claim activity proactively to ensure timely progression toward resolution
• Identify and pursue recovery opportunities when applicable
• Communicate effectively with insureds, brokers, attorneys, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Participate in claim reviews and contribute technical insight on complex loss trends and claim handling best practices
Qualifications
• 5 - 10+ years' experience handling residential and/or commercial property claims
• Prior experience managing large loss exposures is a plus
• Background working for an insurance carrier strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage reserves and negotiate high-value settlements
• Well versed in Xactimate
• Proficiency with claims management platforms and electronic file documentation
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to independently manage a demanding caseload in a remote environment
Salary & Benefits
• Base salary ranging from $90,000 – $125,000 annually depending on experience
