INTRODUCTION TO ROLE (Fully Remote)
A problem solver who can motivate and engage an accounting team to ensure the organization adheres to standard practices and procedures and safeguards the organization from financial issues. The Property Accounting Manager oversees a team of staff accountants who provide accounting support for our managed properties. This includes preparation and execution of the month-end closing, preparation of financial statements, tax reconciliations, cash management, AP/AR, and general ledger accounting. The Property Accounting Manager ensures that all balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a timely manner and is responsible for reviewing/approving all financial information provided by their assigned staff accountants. This role supports the organization's strategic vision through sound fiscal management. Key competencies: Financial Management, Performance Management, Ethical Conduct, and thoroughness.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a solutions‑oriented leader who can guide and elevate a high‑performing accounting team supporting a multi‑property hospitality portfolio. This role requires strong technical accounting skills and the ability to apply public‑accounting‑level rigor within a fast‑moving hospitality environment. The Senior Property Accounting Manager ensures accuracy, consistency, and compliance while driving operational efficiency and supporting the organization’s long‑term financial strategy. Key competencies also include operational judgment, performance leadership, and commitment to accuracy and integrity.
Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI)
Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to manage employees while multitasking and directing large projects
Pays strict attention to detail, is highly organized, and is deadline-focused
Must have excellent teamwork and collaboration skills with a focus on process improvement
Must be Status Quo Challenging
Must be resourceful and able to work independently

Experience with System Implementations, Process Improvement, and Property Transitions Required
Prior Hospitality Accounting experience, overseeing multiple entities required
Prior Audit experience is a plus
Advanced proficiency with accounting systems and the Microsoft Office Suite is required
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams of Staff Accountants, Property Accountants, and Senior Accountants
Experience managing workload distribution, coaching, and performance for teams supporting multi‑property operations
Strong collaboration skills with a mindset for improving processes and elevating team performance
Experience supporting system enhancements, operational transitions, and onboarding of newly acquired properties
Prior hospitality accounting experience overseeing multi‑entities such as hotels, resorts, and campgrounds (required)
Audit or internal controls experience is a plus

Deliver training to strengthen accuracy, reconciliation quality, and operational efficiency
Partner with ownership groups to meet reporting requirements and support strategic decision‑making
Oversee accounting components of property transitions, onboarding of new acquisitions, and coordination of system enhancements or implementations
Drive cross‑functional projects that improve reporting accuracy, streamline workflows, and strengthen operational efficiency
Support organizational growth by identifying opportunities to refine systems, tools, and processes
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
The Senior Property Accounting Manager reports to the VP, Finance & Accounting. You work closely with the General Managers and Regional Operations Managers for your assigned properties, as well as the other leaders on the accounting team.
You will collaborate closely with General Managers, Regional Operations Managers, and other leaders across the accounting and operations teams.
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field. Master’s Degree and/or CPA preferred
Strong working knowledge of GAAP, and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI)
Experience with Sage Intacct, Blackline, or similar accounting software • Experience with Profitsword or similar Hospitality Intelligence Software
Public accounting background (Big 4 or national firm) preferred; audit, internal controls, or SOX experience a plus
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive hospitality accounting experience (hotels, resorts, campgrounds required) in a corporate environment
5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting teams, including Staff, Property, and Senior Accountants (leading a team of five or more)
Experience overseeing accounting operations for a large multi‑property portfolio (30+ properties preferred)
Demonstrated success leading system improvements, property transitions, and large‑scale accounting projects
Ability to operate with an owner‑oriented mindset, balancing accuracy, efficiency, and operational realities
Willingness to be hands‑on and step into any accounting function when needed
