Medical Spanish Educator (Healthcare Communication)
Help Healthcare Professionals Communicate with Spanish-Speaking Patients
Speaktok is building a new category of language learning focused on healthcare communication.
We help physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical students, and other healthcare professionals in the United States build confidence communicating with Spanish-speaking patients through practical, conversation-based learning.
We're expanding our founding team of Medical Spanish Educators and welcome applications from professionals with experience in Medical Spanish, healthcare communication, language education, medical interpretation, or healthcare training.
What You'll Do
• Deliver engaging 1:1 online Medical Spanish sessions for healthcare professionals in the United States.
• Help learners communicate more confidently with Spanish-speaking patients in real clinical situations.
• Teach practical communication used during patient intake, history taking, pain assessment, examinations, patient education, discharge, and follow-up visits.
• Provide clear, supportive, and actionable feedback that helps learners improve communication and confidence.
• Adapt sessions to each learner's clinical role, goals, and Spanish level.
• Contribute ideas to improve learning materials, role-play scenarios, and the overall educational experience.
Qualifications
• Professional proficiency in both Spanish and English.
• Experience teaching Spanish to adult learners.
• Experience delivering online lessons, coaching, or professional training.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create engaging, learner-centered sessions.
• Organized, reliable, and comfortable working remotely.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly valued:
• Medical Spanish instruction.
• Healthcare communication training.
• Medical interpretation or healthcare interpreting.
• Teaching healthcare professionals.
• Developing educational materials or language-learning content.
• Curriculum design or instructional design.
• Healthcare education or public health.
• Translation or localization for healthcare.
• Degrees or professional experience in Languages, Education, Linguistics, Translation, Public Health, Healthcare Communication, or related fields.
