**Overview of the Role**
As a Remote Crisis Counselor at arenaflex, you'll play a vital role in connecting with individuals experiencing emotional distress or mental health issues. You'll work from the comfort of your own home, maintaining HIPAA compliance and focus, while requiring private office space. Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Speaking with consumers over the phone, building rapport and client engagement
* Assessing and mitigating risk, managing documentation while on calls
* Providing available resources or information needed
* Identifying safe, positive ways of coping and/or developing a safety plan
* Emergency intervention that may be needed
* Remaining calm and professional while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Provide crisis intervention services to individuals in need, utilizing a non-judgmental and empathetic approach
* Conduct thorough assessments to identify risk factors and develop safety plans
* Collaborate with consumers to identify and access available resources and services
* Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all interactions
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
* Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities
**Essential Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year accredited college or university
* 1 year of experience in 988 chat and text support or a related field
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
* Proficiency in crisis intervention techniques and strategies
* Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
* Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, with minimal supervision
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Master's Degree in a related field (e.g., counseling, social work, psychology)
* Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with mental health conditions
* Certification in crisis intervention or a related field (e.g., QPR, ASIST)
* Bilingual or multilingual skills
* Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
