Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, healthcare providers, and local organizations
- Plan and attend community events, workshops, and outreach activities to promote Mercato’s programs
- Educate residents about eligibility and enrollment for nutrition benefit programs
- Coordinate with internal teams to align outreach with statewide health initiatives
- Track engagement metrics, partnerships, and program outcomes
- Represent Mercato in the community with professionalism, empathy, and enthusiasm
- Screen and Navigate residents to service providers to ensure access to eligible services
Skills
- 1–2 years in community outreach, healthcare navigation, or public service
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
- Culturally competent, adaptable, and mission-driven
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; CRM tools a plus
- Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, or a related field—or equivalent experience
- Flexibility to work some evenings or weekends for community events
- Familiarity with Staten Island neighborhoods and community networks is highly preferred
