Responsibilities
- Provide technical personnel support to the Human Resources Division staff and MNIT Services managers, supervisors and employees
- Process, compile, and report all human resources transactions
- Accurately maintain the associated databases
- Conduct new employee meetings
- Oversee the coordination, enrollment, and access to the fringe benefits available to MNIT employees
Skills
- Position requires a minimum of one (1) year of IT related experience performing a variety of HR support functions including human resource transactions, benefits and insurance administration
- Use of HR systems (ex: PeopleSoft or equivalent)
- Knowledge of Employment law, rules, and regulations
- Experience completing the I-9 Form, Employment Eligibility Verification and knowledge of acceptable documents
- Math skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate percentages and use simple formulas
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding
- Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources may substitute for one year of experience
- Experience with SEMA4 (PeopleSoft) personnel transactions processing
- Experience with DocuSign
- Experience, training or familiarity with Microsoft Suites Applications such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of State personnel laws, rule, policies and procedures, and union contract provisions
- Experience providing benefits or insurance guidance
