**Join our Operations Team**
As a Data Center Customer Operations Engineer Intern, you'll be at the forefront of all we do, maintaining critical facilities infrastructure as part of a close-knit team delivering best-in-class service to our data center customers. You'll collaborate with our team to ensure seamless operations, customer satisfaction, and exceptional service delivery. Our operations team is dedicated to providing an equitable work environment that is vital to our success.
**Key Responsibilities**
As a Data Center Customer Operations Engineer Intern, your key responsibilities will include:
* **Installations (Server/Network/Cross Connect Cable)**
+ Racks and stacks customer equipment
+ Installs intra-cage fiber tray, ladder rack, customer equipment, and cabinets
+ Infrastructure installs to include whalebone cable management, public fiber tray systems, carrier ladder rack, AC/DC power trays, security trays, and cash mesh
+ Installs and tests advanced cross-connect circuits (switched, multiplexed, etc.)
+ Installs and tests Equinix Link cross-connects (T1, DS3, OC3-48, Eth, GigE, 10Gig)
* **Testing/Troubleshooting**
+ Supports semi-routine standard operating testing and standard operating installations of customer assets
+ Supports standard operating procedures of layer 1 cross-connect certification testing
* **Customer Management**
+ Supports customer satisfaction with timely adherence to semi-routine execution order requirements
+ Delivers a high level of service and an excellent customer experience when interfacing with customers
+ Provides support with time expectations on new deployments and existing alterations, following standard operating procedure guidelines
+ Supports customers on-site by through access control and escorting services
* **Training**
+ Completes all assigned training on Documentation/Reporting in a timely manner
**Essential Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, computer science, or a related field)
* Strong understanding of data center operations, networking, and infrastructure
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience in data center operations, networking, or infrastructure
* Familiarity with industry-standard tools and technologies (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, etc.)
* Knowledge of cloud computing and enterprise connectivity
* Experience with customer service and support
* Certification in a relevant field (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, etc.)
